Minerva Exclusive Making Conversation Viscose Challis POD Fabric
A Minerva exclusive, this gorgeous design is printed onto the most wonderful quality viscose challis base cloth. Viscose is a fibre that is derived from wood pulp, making it a natural fabric that is more breathable than cotton. Our viscose challis is a super soft 100% viscose woven fabric with a plain weave and no stretch. It is soft, silky and has plenty of drape, making this fabric the perfect choice for sewing tops, blouses, skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, summer trousers, shorts and more. At 120 grams per square metre, this fabric is classed as a light to medium weight. The fabric in most colourways is opaque and should not require lining, on lighter colour prints you may wish to line your garment or wear a slip for more fitted styles. We recommend sewing this fabric with a new fine sharps needle for best results. This fabric is POD (printed on demand), so please allow extra time for delivery. Once you place an order for POD fabric, our team will carefully print your chosen design, on your chosen base cloth, to your chosen size, with care. We pride ourselves on quality of materials, quality of printing and fast turnaround. Please allow 1-2 weeks at peak times, but we aim to despatch your fabric as soon as possible, so the turnaround is often much quicker. If you are ordering other items and need those urgently, please place a separate order and those can be despatched from the Minerva warehouse with our usual speedy turnaround. Why choose POD (print on demand) fabric? Print on demand (POD) is a more sustainable and conscientious approach to fabric. Every fabric is printed to order, which means we can focus on creating less waste, saving energy, and following ethical production practices. Digital printing technology minimizes chemical and dye use compared to traditional screen printing, contributing to cleaner production processes. The scalability of POD allows for small scale, local production, which not only supports local economies but also reduces the need for long distance shipping and storage. By supporting and investing in POD, we take a significant step towards a more responsible, environmentally conscious fabric industry that is equipped to meet the challenges of our era.
